How it works
From apply link to first shift.
Applicants do the paperwork on your hiring site. Your managers finish up in Floorboard.
Step 1: Apply link or QR code
Candidates reach your hiring site from the apply link on your website or a QR code in the restaurant.
Step 2: Applicant creates a login
Each applicant makes their own login for your hiring site. It is never a Floorboard login.
Step 3: Application and paperwork
They complete the application, then the onboarding paperwork: the federal I-9 and W-4 plus your state's withholding form.
Step 4: Managers are alerted
When the paperwork is done, all of your managers get an alert.
Step 5: Handoff to Floorboard
On Floorboard's HR “Onboard new employee” page, managers find the new hire by name, DOB or SSN, finish I-9 Section 2, set assignments and choose the pay method.

Applicants fill in their forms online, so managers aren't chasing paper. In Floorboard, the pay method is simply a paper check, or a pay card if your restaurant offers one.

Applicants sign in to your hiring site with their own login. They never get Floorboard access.

Managers can find a new hire by SSN in Floorboard. It's matched securely and only ever displayed masked.
No bank details, ever
We're not a payroll provider, so we never collect bank or direct-deposit information. New hires start on a paper check, or a pay card if your restaurant offers one.
Separate from Floorboard
The applicant site runs on its own. New hires move into Floorboard only through the manager handoff.
